I have never used a powdered facemask before and so was unsure what to expect when I opened the tub. All my experience with facemasks has been with prepared sachets where you just snip the corner and apply direct from the sachet to the face.

Sinivalia Clay Face Mask is very different. The tub contains 240g of powdered Bentonite clay and needs to be mixed with water before it is ready to apply. The powder is very fine and I did find that the first time I opened up the tub some powder puffed up into the air causing a fine dust to settle that I needed to clean up before I could proceed.
The benefit of using a powder is that you can increase or decrease the amount used to get a paste that is to your own preference. Also, it is much more economical to buy a tub of powder then to buy the equivalent amount of prepared sachets. I have very dry and sensitive skin and am always looking for products that will ease the dryness without causing any irritation. If you have similar problems and are looking for a face mask that will cleanse and moisturise while tightening your pores then this might well be the one for you. How To Use This Clay Mask
Because this is such a gentle pure product it can be used safely twice a week.
Tthe first time I used it I found it extremely difficult to get the right consistency. The instructions on the tub say "Dissolve in warm water...apply to clean skin for 15 minutes" but give no indication of how much powder and how much water to use. My first batch was an absolute disaster and I ended up with a hard ball of clay that wanted to stick to everything but my face. Because I don't give up easily I left it a couple of days and then had another go. This time I looked at the Amazon.co.uk page first before trying to mix up the paste. There are clear and detailed instructions about how to make up the powder into a usable paste and how to apply it for the best effect. Once I followed these instructions I had no problems but I would much rather have had more information with the product itself. Either as a leaflet or printed on the tub. Features and Specifications
This is a pure product that contains no sulfates, parabens or glutens. I found no problems using it on dry, sensitive skin, but it is equally suitable for oily or problem skin. It comes in a 240g tub that will last for ages even if used for the recommended twice per week.
Customer Reviews and Scores
There are currently 121 reviews for this product on Amazon.co.uk with an average score of 4.5/5 stars
The customer reviews on Amazon are mostly positive, but some negative points were raised.. One customer said "This has to be mixed and with a lack of instructions you don't even know what consistency you're aiming at." another said "The scant instructions don't tell you how much of which to mix with how much of what." I agree the lack of instructions about how to use the product is a definite downside. However, the comprehensive instructions on Amazon are an adequate substitute as long as you know they exist. Other people have commented "This is an excellent beauty treatment which my girlfriend regularly uses." and "This mask does exactly what it says - cleanses like no other product and smells OK, not like some other clay masks. It is very effective at reducing appearance of pores and black heads and doesn't irritate sensitive skin". From a personal point of view I think the product is worth persevering with - I did find that my skin looked softer and healthier and my pores looked smaller after using it for a few times. I don't know about making me look younger but with regular use I hope it will help slow the aging process. I do think the instructions could be a lot better. And if it came in a ready made version, just squeeze from a tube, ready to use I would be much more likely to carry on using it.
